Forging press in operation with glowing steel billet
Home/Process

Manufacturingprocess.

From raw material to final dispatch, every stage is controlled for precision, consistency and quality.

Overview

Ten stages.
One quality standard.

Every forging that leaves Vedant Techno Forge passes through a fully in-house manufacturing process, from raw material inspection through forging, heat treatment, machining and final dispatch.

Each stage is documented, inspected and traceable, ensuring the same quality standard across every batch and every component.

Forging Process Flowchart

Fourteen stages,
from inquiry to support.

Every component follows the same controlled path, from PPAP and raw material approval all the way through dispatch and after-sales support.

01

Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

Customer drawing review, feasibility, process planning & sample approval.

02

Raw Material Receiving

Raw material received as per specification and purchase order.

03

Raw Material Inspection

Chemical & physical inspection to ensure material quality.

04

Cutting

Material cut to required length as per forging requirement.

05

Heating

Precision heating in controlled furnaces to forging temperature.

06

Forging

Metal formed into shape using high-pressure forging.

07

Trimming

Excess flash removed to achieve required shape & dimensions.

08

Heat Treatment

Hardening, tempering or normalizing as per material & customer requirements.

09

Shot Blasting

Surface cleaning to remove scale and improve surface finish.

10

Machining

Precision machining for critical dimensions & tolerances.

11

Final Inspection

Dimensional inspection & quality check as per specification.

12

Pre-Dispatch Inspection

100% visual & dimensional inspection before dispatch.

13

Packaging & Dispatch

Secure packaging as per requirement and on-time dispatch.

14

After-Sales Support

Technical support & continuous support for customer satisfaction.

Inside the Process

Every stage,
engineered in-house.

Raw Material Inspection
Stage 01

Raw Material Inspection

Every batch begins with verified raw steel billets, with composition, hardness and origin documented before it crosses our gate.

  • Mill test certificates verified
  • Composition & hardness checked
  • Full batch traceability
Cutting
Stage 02

Cutting

Billets are precision-cut to length, sized for the target component geometry and ready for the forge.

  • Length tolerance ±0.5 mm
  • Weight verified per billet
  • Optimised material yield
Heating
Stage 03

Heating

Induction-heated to forging temperature under controlled atmosphere, where the steel becomes alive and ready to be shaped.

  • Induction heating
  • Controlled atmosphere
  • Uniform billet temperature
Forging
Stage 04

Forging

Struck under press and hammer with purpose-built dies. Grain flow is engineered directly into the part.

  • High-tonnage forging capacity
  • Closed-die forging
  • Engineered grain flow
Trimming
Stage 05

Trimming

Excess flash is removed in a single controlled stroke, leaving a clean forging ready for heat treatment.

  • Single-stroke trim
  • Clean forging profile
  • Ready for heat treatment
Heat Treatment
Stage 06

Heat Treatment

Normalising, annealing or quench-and-temper to specified mechanical properties, with strength, ductility and fatigue life dialled in.

  • Controlled-atmosphere furnaces
  • Hardness verified per batch
  • Full thermal records archived
Shot Blasting
Stage 07

Shot Blasting

Surface scale removed and a uniform finish prepared, so downstream machining starts clean and consistent.

  • Uniform surface finish
  • Scale-free for machining
  • Visual inspection ready
Machining
Stage 08

Machining

CNC turning, VMC milling and drilling to drawing tolerance. Forged geometry, finished to micron precision.

  • CNC turning, VMC & milling
  • Tolerances to ±0.02 mm
  • First-article inspection
Final Inspection
Stage 09

Final Inspection

Dimensional, visual and metallurgical inspection. Every component checked against its specification.

  • Dimensional verification
  • Visual & NDT checks
  • Metallurgical sampling
Packaging & Dispatch
Stage 10

Packaging & Dispatch

Preserved, labelled and packed, fully traceable from raw billet to the machine it will power.

  • Rust-preventive packaging
  • Export-grade pallets
  • Full documentation pack
Quality Standards

A single standard,
every batch.

01

ISO 9001:2015

Quality management system certified to international standards and audited annually for continuous improvement.

02

End-to-End Manufacturing

Every stage from raw material to dispatch is executed within our own facility, with no outsourced critical operations.

03

In-house Quality Control

Dedicated QC laboratory with hardness, dimensional and metallurgical testing on every batch we produce.

04

Full Traceability

Material certificates, heat numbers, inspection reports, all archived and retrievable for every component we ship.
